Headers & footers

A running header or footer has up to three invisible zones (left, center, right) and can include live tokens like the page number.

1. Double-click the top or bottom margin of a page. An editing overlay opens with a control strip. If you want your header to be centered, for example, double-clicking roughly in the center of the header space will automatically apply center formatting. The same is true for left and right alignment.
2. The caret appears in place. Type into the zone. Insert a token ({page}, {pages}, {title}, or {date}) from the strip if desired.
3. Set per-region font and alignment; enable different first page or odd/even variants if you need them.
4. Click back into the page to finish.
