Zoom & view options

Change how big the page looks and how much of your document's structure you can see. None of this touches the file.

Zoom

Use the toolbar's Zoom dropdown for presets (50–200%), or the special modes Fit width and Fit page, which re-fit as you resize the window. View ▸ Zoom In and Zoom Out step through the presets, and Reset Zoom returns to 100%. Shortcuts: Ctrl+= / ⌘= in, Ctrl+- / ⌘- out, Ctrl+0 / ⌘0 reset.

Zoom changes only the page. To make the menus, toolbar, panels, and dialogs bigger or smaller instead, use Interface size in Preferences; see Accessibility.

Dark Pages

Choose View ▸ Dark Pages to show a dark page with light text. It changes only the screen; your file, exports, and prints are unaffected. While it's on, text and highlight colors you've applied are hidden but kept, and the Text color and Highlight buttons leave the toolbar. Turn it off to see and change colors.

Formatting Marks

Choose View ▸ Formatting Marks (Ctrl+Shift+8 / ⌘⇧8) to show hairline rules where page, column, and section breaks fall.
