Guide/Part Five · Save, protect, recover
Versions
Bookmark the document's state as a named snapshot, and return to it later without losing anything.
- In Draft, choose File ▸ Save Version. Add an optional Name (for example, what you're about to change) and click Save version. GLASS numbers each version for you (Version 2, Version 3, and so on), and what you typed shows under it in the list.
- Click the version button at the top right of the window, beside the Mode Switcher. It shows the name of the version you're looking at, and it appears once the document has more than one version. The list shows every version with its name, or how it was made, and its date. Click one to view it (read-only).
- To go back to an old version, click Make this the working version in the banner above the page. Or, in the list, click the empty circle beside that version (Restore this version) and confirm with Restore. GLASS adds a copy of it as a new version and makes that the one you're editing. Every other version stays intact.
Note
While you view an old version, an amber banner reminds you it's read-only. Restoring never overwrites your current work. Hover a version in the list to rename or delete it. Versions are stored inside your .glass file, so save the document to keep them.
